Hi Eva M.
Thanks for your email and your information about the probate, which narrows it down. Also the information from Krak, which I was not aware of. He was listed with all his children's birth registration in Trinitatis and Homen kirkebøger as 'Fuldmægtig', which must mean someting like an authorized person or a person in charge (department head). I have checked all death in Trinitatis sogn from November 1819 to 1822 without finding the death registrations. I shall try Helligånd and Holmen sogn also.
There was a family jernstøber og klokkestøber Christopher Reiffenstein married to Henricha Hansdatter with 8 children from 1774 to 1786 in Fredrikswærk i Venderød sogn, Frederiksborg, Danmark. I thought that the above Christian Gottlieb Reiffenstein might be a son of Christopher Reiifenstein also. But I have not found any connection. (see 1787 census of Venderød sogn).
Here is the family of Christian G.R.:

Yes he had two sons: the oldest is Christian Friedrich Reiffenstein born in 1806 and died in 1840. He had a son born in the Brithing Institute in Copenhagen Carl Reiffenstein on 12Dec1831 and died 1916 in Vejlby, Århus, Danmark. His son again was Rasmus Reiffenstein born 1863 in Vejlby, Århus, Danmark and died in Garver, Hancock, Iowa, USA.

Thank you very much for all your help. Where Christian Gottlieb Reiffenstein was born is still a great mystery. It is likely from one of the German families.
Thanks again Eva M.
Hans W. Rerup, I am helping the granddaughter fo the abovementioned Rasmus Reiffenstein finding her family in Denmark.
